Restoran di Suria KLCC terbakar

KUALA LUMPUR: Kebakaran kecil berlaku di sebuah restoran di aras bawah Suria KLCC petang tadi, menyebabkan orang ramai dan peniaga gempar apabila diminta segera keluar meninggalkan pusat membeli belah itu.Dalam kejadian jam 5.20 petang itu, sistem saluran asap di bahagian dapur premis berkenaan terbakar menyebabkan asap tebal di bumbung Suria KLCC hingga boleh dilihat dari jauh.

Tiada kecederaan atau kemalangan jiwa dilaporkan dan api dapat dikawal selepas kira-kira 20 minit.

Petugas keselamatan KLCC mengambil masa 15 minit mengeluarkan orang ramai dari pusat membeli belah itu sebelum ia ditutup untuk kerja pemadaman api dan pemeriksaan keselamatan.

KUALA LUMPUR: A fire broke out at the Suria KLCC shopping complex earlier this evening, forcing some 5,000 people to be evacuated.

Office workers and shoppers in the area were among the first to report on the fire via Twitter, including posting photos of smoke billowing from the building.

Federal Territory Fire and Rescue Department assistant director Azizan Ismail said the fire started in the kitchen of a restaurant, situated at  the concourse level.

“It was a small fire but the smoke made it  look like a big one,” he told reporters.

Four fire engines with 30 firemen arrived at the scene after receiving the call.

The fire was put out at 5.48pm.

He said no one was injured in the incident  and the cause of fire is being investigated.
